We're thrilled to offer this hands-on, tactical workshop and networking event that will explore what it takes to persist and prevail as artist-entrepreneurs. When the going gets tough, what do you do? How do you dig deep and stick it out when the mountain feels too high to climb? What are the tools you use to push on through to the other side? Who do you call on for support when you're ready to throw in the towel? Build your resources and your confidence at this can-do event!

Happy 2008! To kick off the new year, I've updated the site with all of the great resource recommendations that you sent in. Check out all of the great listings and send more our way! We LOVE when people recommend themselves, so don't be shy - this is a way to get the word out about what you do to the whole Broad Collective community, and to be generous to others whose work you value and admire. Good times all the way around.

The women I talked to were working on books, landing dream gigs, starting creative companies, sitting on boards of non-profits, teaching, producing and directing films and so much more. It is always so inspiring to be with you and to hear the amazing things you're up to in your lives.
One idea that came up last night was to start a Broad Collective list of recommendations: a central place where Broads can recommend vendors, venues, teachers and other resources that have been of value to their creative businesses. We love this idea because it's all about generosity (which we here at Broad Collective believe is the source of abundance).

Fall Cocktail Party: Monday November 5th @ Comix!
We've been throwing quarterly cocktail parties for the past 2 years, and the women who attend are truly inspiring: creative, business savvy, down-to-earth and generous with their energy, insights and connections.
Broad Collective women wear a lot of hats, and they wear them all well. Call us hyphenates, multi-taskers or artist-entrepreneurs, you belong among the Broads if you make a living or aspire to make a living as a creative person.
Organic connections are what Broad Collective is all about, and at our parties, you'll find women hungry to hear about what you do and who you are. You'll meet people who want have authentic conversations, introduce you to people they know, and find collaborators, co-conspirators and kindred spirits.
New jobs, new clients, new opportunities, new friends - that's what we're here to facilitate. No formal nametags, no creepy networking, just a group of amazing women who can benefit from knowing one another. Oh, and there are cocktails. Doesn't that sound like fun?
